About Us

Sharon Wilsie has enjoyed a professional career as a horse trainer/rehabilitation specialist, intercollegiate coach, and riding instructor. Her grandfather owned and raced Standardbreds, and her love for horses has been life-long. She has developed and implemented several programs over the last decade, including; volunteer training groups for horse rescues and therapeutic riding centers, Equine Assisted Learning course at Landmark College, as well as hundreds of workshops, seminars, and engagements in a variety of topics about Equine Facilitated Therapies, alternative training and rehabilitation methods for difficult horses and horses with PTSD. She worked with students of all ages, including at-risk youth programs. Sharon’s passion has always been to create a two – way street of mutual healing, awareness, and betterment for both horses and  people. Sharon is also a Reiki Master/Teacher.

Laura Wilsie is the Operations Manager for Wilsie Way Horsemanship.  Utilizing her many years of business management and customer service experience, Laura keeps the ball rolling behind the scenes.

Laura comes from a long line of horse enthusiasts and had experience in many disciplines while growing up. Her love of horses was re-ignited when she started volunteering at a local horse rescue.  There she adopted a PMU filly and met Sharon.

Laura is also the Horse Speak photographer and videographer, and can be found behind the camera at clinics and events.


The Horse Speak Education Team

Sharon, Laura and Heidi Potter form the Horse Speak Education Team. The team’s mission is to increase the options for learning Horse Speak with webinars, online education and clinics.

Heidi, our Horse Speak Senior Instructor, is a professional horsewoman who is known and respected for her bright, kind and consistent style of teaching and training. Horses and humans alike benefit from her extensive knowledge and gentle approach. As a natural style trainer, she specializes in a tender and progressive way of working with horses. Her ability to read the horse and then progress with calmness, clarity, and consistency has proven successful in building trusting and respectful partnerships between horses and their humans. The Horse Speak Office

Deb Maynard is our Horse Speak Office Assistant / Marketing Specialist / Factotum.

Deb recently retired from a 25 year career in the natural foods industry and brings all that organizational experience with her to help us develop Horse Speak. Deb has been learning Horse Speak since meeting Sharon at Equine Affair in 2016, and is also a Masterson Method Certified Practitioner.

Deb helps us manage our email, scheduling, orders and websites.

Deb’s horses, Scout and Mike, are, naturally, fluent in Horse Speak and are patient teachers of humans.
